Second Annual LEADERSHIP 101 Workshop
On August 7, 2015, the SCSU Alumni Band Association hosted it's 2nd annual LEADERSHIP 101 workshop at the beginning of fall drill for the student leaders of the band. The workshop was designed to inspire, engage, interact, and assist the young leaders to apply what they have learned to strengthen personal and organizational leadership. 4th Annual"Thirsty Dog" Campaign Is BACK!
It's time to come together to help make sure the the Marching 101 has water on game days. We are asking for donations of $10.10 or more. Cases of water can also be dropped off at the band hall. The section that raises the most money will be recognized along with the section that brings in the most cases of water. This year we have added a TWIST! The students of the winning section will receive a DINNER compliments of the Alumni Band Association. Please designate a section of the band to receive credit for your donation. Winners will be announced at the end of August.
Welcoming Freshman/Leadership 101
On July 31, 2017, the Marching 101 Freshman and Leaders of the Band arrived at SC State to begin their year with the Marching 101 and the University Band Program. Members of Alumni Band were on hand to greet the freshman. We also provided "Welcome to the Marching 101" snack packs that included a welcome card from an Alumni member.
Later that evening, the Alumni Band Association hosted our 4th Annual Leadership 101 workshop. This workshop is for the leaders of the band (drum majors, student conductors, section leaders, etc.). Thanks to Alumni members Jamie Brunson and Devin Robinson for coordinating this event each year.

In Memory of Solomon Williamson
The SCSU Alumni Band Executive Board was saddened to hear that Alumni Band member Solomon Williamson took his last breath on Sunday night, December 11,2016. Solomon was an award winning Coach who led his team to the lower state Class A championship. He was very courageous person who was battling pancreatic cancer. He inspired everyone who was in his presence with his inspirational messages of hope, triumph, and faith. He fought until he could fight no more. Our hearts go out to his son Matthew, who is a great musician just like his father. To the Williamson family and friends, please hold on the precious memories that you shared. Allow them to comfort you during this difficult time.
2016 Thirsty Dog Campaign
We would first like to thank those of you who have donated water or money to our 2016 "Thirsty Dog" Campaign. We were very pleased at the overwhelming response to our call to action. We appreciate everyone who dropped off water, made a donation, or coordinated with other members of their section to make a contribution. You have truly shown the true BULLDOG SPIRIT! We collected hundreds of cases of water and dollars to support the students of the University Band program thanks to generous donations.
Ladies and gentlemen...The angels in heaven are rejoicing, for our dear brother, EDDIE MOE. Though we are saddened by the loss of a person who has been a staple in EVERY SCSU BULLDOG, let find COMFORT in knowing that ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN! To the REALEST, CRUNKEST, DIE HARD, UNEQUIVOCALLY UNEQUALED BULLDOG of them ALL ....WE MISS AND LOVE YOU! #SALUTE P.S.--- Show everyone up above how to get a party started!
